DIMAPUR — Phek
District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly
meeting-cum-advent Christmas celebration at Tekûmle Tizu in Meluri on Friday.
The programme was chaired by chairman of DPDB and advisor of
New and Renewal Energy, NSDMA, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe.
A DIPR report stated that agenda including creation of
sub-treasury office in Meluri district, creation of office of district
programme officer under Social Welfare department in Meluri, upgrade of Meluri
District Hospital and registration of Phek District Music & Art Society
were discussed and forwarded to the concerned authority for approval.
In his Christmas message, Rev. Fr. Toury Kallurumbel, parish
priest of St. Xavier Church, Meluri, called upon the government officials,
particularly the district officers and members of the DPDB to come down to the
needy and do the needful in the name of Christ the saviour. He also exhorted
the officials by quoting the Bible verse from John 3:16.
Advisors of Civil Administration Works Division and Taxes,
Kudecho Khamo, and advisor of New and Renewal Energy, NSDMA, Z Nyusietho
Nyuthe, delivered the Christmas greetings, while the DFO of Phek, Entiwekha
Wezah, spoke about what Christmas means to him.
All the district officers along with staff led by DC of
Phek, John Tsulise Sangtam, attended the DPDB meeting-cum-advent Christmas
programme.
In another programme, the Zunheboto DPDB held its monthly
meeting-cum-advent Christmas at Arkha Farm in Tizu Valley on Friday under the
chairmanship of MLA and DPDB chairman, Picto Shohe.
The programme began with cake cutting ceremony by the
chairman, wherein he urged the members to have sense of responsibility towards
the district and come up with proposals through their respective departments.
The members approved proposal for grant-in-aid to Evergreen
School, Satakha, and forwarded to the concerned authority for necessary action.
In conclusion, the deputy commissioner of Zunheboto, Rahul
Bhanudas Mali, wished everyone a blessed festive season.
Meanwhile, the monthly Pungro Sub-Divisional Planning and
Development Board (SDPDB) meeting was held on December 11 at ADC office’s
premises in Pungro town.
The meeting was chaired by vice chairman of SDPDB Pungro and
ADC of Pungro, James T Khulu Tikhir.
During the meeting, the proposal submitted by the ADC for
construction of a new town council office in Pungro town was approved and
forwarded to the concerned department.
The house also held discussion key issues such as shortage
of manpower in Power and PHED departments. The proposal for the reconstruction
of Government Primary School in Penkim village was deferred to the next
meeting.
The members further discussed the need to relocate the
Community Health Centre (CHC) to facilitate further expansion and improved the
healthcare services of the region.
