Phek Wrestling Association to hold 47th Wrestling Meet

DIMAPUR — The Phek Wrestling Association (PWA) will hold its 47th Wrestling Meet and 1st Under 15 edition at Phek village on December 16.

MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will be the special guest, while Vezuhii Keyho, president of the Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), will act as the lead discussant, according to an update.

The inaugural ceremony, starting at 8:30 am, will be led by Dzuthoyi Hoshi, finance secretary of PWA, while R Bibi Soho, president of PWA, will deliver the presidential address.

Veta Soho, technical secretary of PWA, will administer the oath to the wrestlers.

The event will feature three categories: A Team, B Team and Under 15.

The prize sponsors for A Team include Dr. K Hoshi, former candidate for the 19th Phek A/C (1st – INR 40,000); Zhokupa Hoshi, assistant programme officer, Department of School Education, Kohima, Nagaland (2nd – INR 25,000); Shepalu Venuh, vice principal of Phek Government College (3rd – INR 15,000); and Rukuto Venuh, VCM Phek village (4th – INR 10,000).

Prize sponsors for the B Team are Kuveduyi Venuh, Educational Block Resource Centre, coordinator Phek Block (1st – INR 10,000); Veshe Chizo, president of PCF (2nd – INR 7,000); Kukhotso Keyho, graduate teacher at Government Middle School, Phek Basa (3rd – INR 5,000); and Hiivekholu Keyho, women village development board secretary, Phek village (4th – INR 3,000).

The first prize for the Under 15 category will be sponsored by Lavoto Chizo, NPF president of the 19th A/C Phek (1st – INR 15,000); Kupoyi Hoshi, PIS, DIS Mon (2nd – INR 10,000); and Vekhochiyi Rhakho, JE, Public Works Department (National Highway), Phek Division (3rd – INR 8,000; and 4th – INR 6,000).
