Dimapur, June 3: Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) under the mission ‘Clean-Green Operation’ organized a declaration ceremony of Phek town as plastic free, smoking free and eco-friendly town with Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA, as special guest on June 3 at Hospital Junction at 11 AM.
While speaking to the gathering, the MLA appreciated PTYS for initiating the programme which is the first of its kind and bringing about various changes in the town. He stressed that every citizen should apply civic sense in maintaining cleanliness and take responsibility of keeping the town clean, green and eco-friendly.
While urging to maintain one’s heart and mind clean, he lamented that our society do not have rooms for appreciation even when someone does good deeds. He said appreciation is a strong tool of inspiration towards achieving greater heights. He, therefore, called upon the gathering to learn how to appreciate others for any good jobs being rendered to the society.
The programme was chaired by Nuyi Hoshi, convener CGO, while Vehuta Rhakho, president of Phek Town Public Welfare Forum exhorted the gathering. Invocation prayer was pronounced by Thepuchiyi Khesoh, Pastor of Phek Town Baptist Church, and vote of thanks was delivered by Neihite Akami, president PTYS.
