Phek to undertake Swachh Bharat Mission

Dimapur, October 13: Phek district has announced to undertake Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) by organising a mass social work on October 15 in the district headquarters from 6 a.m. onwards. Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Murohu Chotso, in an order, directed all respective departments to conduct cleanliness drive within their office jurisdiction. He has also directed all GBs/ ward officials/ public of respective wards to conduct cleanliness drive in respective wards/colonies and gather waste/garbage on road side for disposal by trucks. The order stated that department namely 5th NAP, DEF, EE Power, DC Pool, EE PHED and PTC will provide one truck each along with staff for garbage disposal. All concerned departments and public are requested to extend full cooperation for a ‘cleaner and green’ Phek.Meanwhile, Phek District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting on October 13 in the DC’s conference hall chaired by the vice chairman DPDB and Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Murohu Chotso. The house recommended opening of any nationalised bank at Phek headquarter, registration of society in respect of Bio-Earth and Earth Hills Society (BASS) Pfutsero town, upgradation of Royal Foundation School, Phek town, to higher secondary level, constitution of verification committee for LADP 2016-17. Departmental activities were presented by NABARD and NYK departments.
