Dimapur, May 30 (EMN): The Phek district administration has set up a committee to address complaints concerning "non-inclusion of damage" for acquiring property and estates during the construction of the two-lane Pfutsero-Phek road.
The government's publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), issued updates to the media on Thursday informing about the development.
According to the IPR, the Deputy Commissioner Sachin Jaiswal has issued a notification noting "numerous complaints" that have been received from various individuals and groups in regard to issues of "non-inclusion of damage" for acquiring buildings, plantations, fisheries and other structure 'affected during the construction of the two-lane Pfutsero-Phek road.'
For said reason, a committee had been set up for verification.
The verification committee will undertake a spot-verification inspection of 'claims for non inclusion of damage.'
Compensation for acquiring buildings, plantations, fisheries and other structures shall be given on these dates: Pholami on Monday, the 3rd of June; upper Khomi and middle Khomi on Tuesday, the 4th of June; Losami on Wednesday, the 5th of June; and Phek and Chosaba on Thursday, the 6th of June.
'Therefore, The village council of the affected areas have been directed to inform all land owners, groups, unions, and associations claiming such compensation to be on the affected spot on the date mentioned above,' the IPR stated.
"Any claim for compensation which may fall under the mandate of the verification committee is to be consolidated by the respective village council and submitted to the convenor during the spot verification."
The updates mentioned also that 'frequent verification of such nature' is impractical and 'negatively affects the road.'
For said reason, the village councils are directed to inform all the land owners, groups, unions, and associations to be physically present during the exercise, the IPR added.
