PHEK — PM SHRI Government High School, Phusachodu, organised an awareness programme on vocational education at the school campus on Thursday with P Lohe Chachie, senior SDEO Phek, as the guest speaker.
The programme was attended by village council members, GBs and parents.
Held on the theme ‘Bridging skills and community: Your community’s wellness, our students’ passion,’ the event highlighted the importance of vocational education in equipping students with job-specific skills and opening avenues for entrepreneurship.
Grace W Ezung, vocational teacher (Beauty and Wellness), underscored the role of vocational training in preparing students for self-employment and skill-based careers.
Addressing the gathering, Chachie stressed that vocational education has become a compulsory subject under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He urged students to put God first, obey their parents and respect their teachers in order to succeed in life.
The programme concluded with a hands-on demonstration, where students provided pedicure, manicure and facial services to the senior SDEO, village council chairman and parents, showcasing the practical skills acquired through vocational training.
