Dimapur, November 18: Phek Town Council (PTC) observed the 63th All India Cooperative Week on November 18 with the Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Murohu Chotso, as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed on the need to improve in all fields so that ‘we can catch up with the rest of the world.’ He called upon the participants to take interest in the venture initiated by the department for betterment of the society. While wishing the department for successful implementation of the programme, he called upon the gathering to take appropriate method for implementation of the project. Stating that many registered societies were formed for the the betterment of society, he asked them to upgrade in order to improve in all areas. He further advised the gathering to maintain accounts properly and get it audited yearly to have transparency in all financial transactions. He also advised the co-operative societies to work as a team.
The programme was chaired by Thungchanbeni Patton, ARCS, Phek, while the invocation prayer was pronounced by Vekulu, treasurer of Doto Weaving Cooperative Sociery Ltd, Phek. The welcome address was delivered by Kevilhousa, SICS Phek who also spoke on the topic “Role of co-operative in sustainable development growth.”
NSCB Ltd Phek presented the “Technology adoption by co-operatives.” Short speech was delivered by Moze Nyekha, BDO WEAFED Ltd and Chairman PDWACU Ltd. The vote of thanks was delivered by Tsuknungwati, SICS, Phek.
