The monthly meeting of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), Phek on November 11 deliberated the proposal to upgrade Tewelhi Medo Tyrannus School, Pfutsero to Higher Secondary level and the board after hearing the justifications made by the DEO (Education), Phek, agreed to recommend to the government for necessary action. As entrusted by the Board, Phek District Forest Officer, Rongsenlemla Imchem, and District Soil Conservation Officer, Kevingutso Rutsa, gave their departmental activities with Power Point Presentation.
In connection with the 50 years of Statehood day, a committee for Phek district was form with the Deputy Commissioner as the Convener and the members are as follows:- Superintendent of Police, Phek, Deputy Commandant, 5th NAP, DFO (Forest), EE PWD (R&B), EE (Power), EE (PHED), Principal (Phek Govt. College), DPRO, DAO (Agri), PD, DRDA and DEO (Edu). A meeting has been convened on 15th November 2013 in the DPDB Hall at 11.00 a.m.
therefore, all the members are requested to attend the meeting and called upon the members to bring constructive suggestions for success of the programme.
The Deputy Commissioner who is also the DPDB Vice Chairman brought to the notice to the members that the forthcoming Chakhesang Students Union Conference will hold at Khuza village in the 2nd week of January 2014 and further requested PWD, R&B, PHED and Power departments to extend logistic support and also appealed to all the Head of Offices to help in existing possible manner.
Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency and Nagaland Bio-resource Mission were entrusted to present their departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting scheduled on December 10.
In this regard, the Missions will be intimidated accordingly. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from the chair.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of NLA Speaker and DPDB chairman, Phek Chotisuh.
During the meeting the chairman also gave a power point presentation in connection with his tour to South Africa where he attended the 59th Common Wealth Parliamentary Conference at Johannesburg. He also presented some breath taking photographs of his tour to Paris, Cape Town, Brussels and Rome.
He appealed all the Board members to spread the need of oneness citing the example of European nations which in spite of many nationalities, co-exist like a small village.
