
PFUTSERO — The two-day Phek District Open Badminton Championship held at Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, Pfutsero, concluded on Saturday.
The event was organised by Phek District Badminton Association (PDBA) in collaboration with Glory Peak Shuttlers, Pfutsero.
Dr. Neisatuo Mero, MLA, the special guest of the valedictory programme, in his speech advised the participants to have consistency by regularly practicing to maintain physical fitness.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]A physician turned politician himself, Mero also stressed on the need to maintain a proper diet and healthy habits to be a sportsperson. He also urged the participants to advocate peace and be ambassadors for peace.

Further, encouraging the participants to aim high, he challenged them to participate in the national and international levels also to earn a name for themselves.
Earlier, president PDBA Dr. Nütazo Lohe delivered the presidential address. Over 80 participants took part in the championship competing in juniors, seniors and veteran categories.
