Dimapur, May 25 (EMN): Residents of a colony in Phek town called Bible Hill colony are said to be facing difficulties following a power blackout since May 2 after a transformer broke down. To the dismay of the area’s citizens, ‘the department’ has yet to come to their “rescue till date,” a note from a community group in the town stated on Thursday.
According to a press release from the Bible Hill Colony Public Council (BHCPC), “the absence of EE and SDO also compel the situation to remain delayed till date” despite ‘repeated appeals to the department for early restoration of the power.’The council stated to have written a complaint to the executive engineer of Power, Phek, on May 16.
“Following the breakdown of the transformer, machines of different varieties were also affected causing loses of more than 2 laks (sic).
The council while showing its resentment over the long sufferings of its people fervently appeals the department to rescue the citizens by restoring the transformer without any further delayed failing which the public of the colony may initiate its own course of action as would deem fit,” the press release added.
