Dimapur, March 22 (EMN): Phek Government College in Phek district conducted a daylong workshop focusing on issues of academic development, on March 16. A press release from the college informed on Thursday that the event was for students.
According to the press release, the faculty of the college along with Michael Heneise, director of the Kohima Institute of Advanced Studies led the programme as resource persons. Heneise is also stated to be the editor of research journals The South Asianist and The Highlander of Edinburgh University in Scotland.
It stated that the workshop consisted of two sessions. In the first session, Heneise highlighted the strengths and weaknesses possessed by every individual. According to the press release he said that ‘one must first recognize one’s strength and then work only on it with wholehearted efforts in order to excel.’
In the second session, Heneise and the faculty members spoke about the necessity of developing the academic potential of teachers. He said, “Identifying one’s disposition is the key to unleash excellence in any field particularly in academics.” He expressed keenness to help the lecturers of the college to link up with other scholars in the country and abroad for collaborative research ventures, the press release stated.
