Phek and Mokokchung districts launch Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar campaign in all health units.

DIMAPUR — Phek district has launched the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar’ health campaign at District Hospital as well as in all Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM), health sub-centre, primary health centres (PHC) and community health centres (CHC) on September 17 and would conclude on October 2.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Phek, the health campaign was aimed at improving the health and nutrition of women and children. It stated that various activities are being carried out daily by providing different services to the community.
The services included screening of women for non-communicable diseases (NCD), tuberculosis screening, screening for anaemia, ante-natal care (ANC), immunisation, IEC and community engagement, AYUSH service etc.

It further stated that all the vertical programmes including mobile medical unit (MMU) and RBSK are conducting the activities in 60 health units.
In a related programme, Mokokchung district also launched the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar campaign from September 17 in 36 health units.
During the campaign services such as screening for NCD, oral health/ dental services, ENT, eye, paediatric, maternal and child health, Ayurveda, immunisation and awareness programme were conducted.
Coinciding with the ongoing health campaign, the district RBSK team are conducting screening drive in government schools and Anganwadi centres.
It stated that ASHAs and AWWs are playing a vital role in community mobilisation as well as patient guidance at the health centres.
