Dimapur, Feb. 12 (EMN): Minister of PHED, Jacob Zhimomi, inaugurated a two-lane RCC bridge over Dhansiri River (tributary) in Shozukhu-Zukihe village on February 12. A 340-metre Shozukhu-Zukihi RCC bridge over Dhansiri river in Niuland district would benefit two administrative headquarters of the state and 50 villages.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Jacob said that the bridge which was to be last year was delayed due to lockdown and restrictions. Jacob said the bridge has been a long-felt dream of the people and added that the bridge would serve as lifeline for many villages.
Also speaking at the programme, Advisor of IT, Science and Technology and NRE, Mmhonlumo Kikon, stated that the bridge would benefit not only the Shozukhu- Zukihe villages but also the neighboring villages. Kikon added that the ‘road to development starts with the development of road.’
Short speeches were also delivered by the deputy commissioner of Niuland, Ajit Kumar Verma, wherein he encouraged the gathering to maintain the bridge as well as by ATKK president and head GB, Heshito Awomi.
Earlier, a dedicatory prayer was offered by CLF Khaghaboto president, pastor Bokaho Assumi and the plaque was unveiled by the chief guest. The vote of thanks was delivered by KTKK president and head GB Vikato K Achumi and benediction by pastor of Zukihe Baptist Church, Kaiho Zhimo.
