Kohima, July 29 (EMN): PHED officials led by chief engineer, Kevisekho Kruse held a coordination meeting with the water source owners of Dzücharü (stream) represented by the chairman Kuolavilie Mejura along with office bearers of Makhuma Khel Council of Phesama village, at the PHED chief engineer’s office chamber on July 26.
A press release from the department informed that the meeting re-affirmed the understanding that existed between the department and the khel council and also made few resolutions aimed at maintaining a clear understanding between the two parties so as to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply to Kohima town.
The resolutions included provisions such as the custodian role to be shouldered by the Makhuma Khel Council, empowering some members of the khel to deal with the department, protection of service of persons appointed on landowner based criterion and reviewing of the agreement on expiry of 20 years.
