Imphal, Oct. 6 (EMN): Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister L Dikho, on Saturday inaugurated the augmentation of water supply scheme at Khoijuman village in Bishnupur district.
Speaking at the inaugural programme as the chief guest, the minister said the biggest concern of Chief Minister Biren Singh at present is water supply as it is one of the most important projects of the government.
Dikho congratulated Oinam MLA L Radhakishore Singh for making the project a successful one by donating INR 30 lakh from MLA local area development fund.
The minister said “education is necessary for the overall development of the State, to bring peace and to free our state from the hazards of agitation and bandhs affecting our normal lives.”
Appreciating the locals of Khoijuman for their initiative in making the water supply augmentation come alive, he appealed the public to support the government in carrying out the framed policies and schemes effectively.
“Water is life. The public will be happy to learn about PM Modi’s vision to supply water to every household of the country by 2020,” Revenue Minister Karam Shyam said.
Shyam also mentioned that the government is targeting to connect around 1, 44, 000 LPG gas.
Former Union Minister Chaoba appreciated the innovative activities of the present government during the last one and half year for the welfare of Manipur.
MLA Radhakishore said the target of the water supply is around 600 households in Khoijuman with a view to provide water to every household in the village by 2019.
