Guwahati, May 28 : Phani Bhusan Choudhury was today sworn in as the pro-tem Speaker of the 14th Assam Legislative Assembly.
Assam Governor PB Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Choudhury in the presence of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at a function held in the Durbar Hall in Raj Bhawan. Phani Bhusan Choudhury is an AGP MLA. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Chief Secretary V K Pipersenia and other dignitaries were present at the function. The governor has summoned the Assam Assembly to meet at 9 AM on June 1.
