- DIMAPUR — The
Vice President of India and chairman of Rajya Sabha, Jagdeep Dhankhar, has
nominated, S Phangnon Konyak, lone Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) from
Nagaland, as member to the Court of Nagaland University (NU).
- Expressing her gratitude, Konyak stated that she was
immensely honoured by the nomination and assured to actively engage with the
authorities in reviewing its policies and programmes in accordance with the
statutes outlined in the Nagaland University Act, 1989.

- Konyak has affirmed her commitment to work towards elevating
the University’s stature through quality education, progressive policymaking
and engagement with stakeholders. She further emphasised the need for collective
resolve to bring Nagaland University at par with other premier institutions
across the country.
- An update from the press secretary to the MP stated that
Nagaland University has played a vital role in nurturing distinguished alumni,
who have served and continue to serve the nation in various capacities as
bureaucrats, elected representatives, professionals and thought leaders.
