PGC holds 42nd cultural-cum-literary day
Pfutsero Government College (PGC) in Phek district celebrated its 42nd cultural and literary day

- DIMAPUR — Pfutsero Government College (PGC) in
Phek district celebrated its 42nd cultural and literary day on March 11 and 12
on the theme “Rooted in tradition, reaching for excellence.”
- The cultural day on March 11 was conducted with Vezühu
Keyho, president of Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), as the guest speaker.
In his address, Keyho emphasised the importance of preserving social values
passed down by forefathers while wisely adapting to change.
- He reminded students of two key Chakhesang cultural
practices namely ‘Menga’ (shame) and ‘Kenyi’ (taboo/genna), stated an update
from the college.
- The programme was chaired by Boche Mero, vice president of
PGCSU, while the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Vizolenuo Sophie,
followed by the keynote address delivered by Dr. Tialila, principal of PGC.
- The literary day on March 12 was attended by Nunese Sale,
CEO of Nune’s Construction and president of Vision Trinity Club, Sari Education
Foundation and The Dream Team Nagaland, as the guest speaker. In his address,
Sale highlighted the importance of consistency, dedication, commitment and
creativity in achieving success.
- Muluvelu Vadeo, finance secretary of PGCSU, chaired the
event, while the welcome address was delivered by Meno-U Tepfo, magazine and
literary secretary of PGCSU. Greetings were shared by ANCSU president,
Tenyesinlo Bukh, and PTCSU president, Deve Rüho.
- The event showcase designs by Welo Akami Artwork besides
competitions in various categories on both days.
