Dimapur, May 3 (EMN) : A traffic policeman in Pfutsero who was recently in the news reportedly for collecting garbage in the town has been honoured by local authorities. A press release from Kalos Society of Pfutsero town said on Wednesday that traffic policeman Neingupe Marhu was felicitated by the Phek District Legal Service Authority on May 1 at the Pfutsero ADC office.
May 1 is also International Labour day, the press release noted.
“The Phek district session judge, Mr. Longshi gave away the certificate and cash award to motivate him and let him continue his work. Neingupe Marhu says that he is happy with what he is doing and he will continue to serve the society,” the Society stated.
Likewise, on May 2 during the inaugural service of the PTSA Inter-ward football tournament, member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Neiba Kronu acknowledged Neingupe Marhu, “the trash collector for his selfless contribution to the society,” the press release stated.
Neiba Kronu “donated” rupees 30, 000 to the mission of the traffic policeman and encouraged him to carry on the good work that he is doing for the community.
