Dimapur, Jan. 17: Public Forum Pungro Sub- Division (PFPSD) has demanded written clarification/ justification from the government on matter pertaining to transfer of SDO (Electrical) with post from Pungro Sub-B Kiphire station on or before January 24, while it also warned that the matter will be left to public if the government fails to give convincing reply after expiry of the stipulated period.
PFPSD president S Kiusumew Yimchunger and the general secretary, Khiutsithong, in a reconsideration of public ultimatum addressed to the Secretary of Power Department, stated that it had earlier served an ultimatum on December 3, 2016 urging the department to reinstate the pose of SDO (Electrical). In response, the department in a letter No. PWR/ESTD-32/2010 Dated Kohima 19th December 2016 appealed PFPSD to re-examine the ultimatum and to give time for a suitable decision by the government. It said in deference to the request the Forum extended 14 days.
The Forum said after expiry of 14 days deadline, the Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, and the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pungro, made strong appeal PFPSD not to proceed with their own course of public action stating that the file was under process. It said the Under Secretary of Power department also stated that the Secretary was on leave adding the matter will be processed at the earliest.
Basing on the requests, the Forum said it decided to reconsider the ultimatum and extended another 7 days with demand for a written clarification/ justification on the stand of the government and the status the file on or before January 24. The Forum further warned that it will not compromise if the government fails to fulfil the public demand within the stipulated time, adding it will leave the matter to the public for which it will not be held responsible for any untoward eventualities arising out of the issue.
