For the majority of honest and hard working citizen of Nagaland ACAUT came as a ray of hope against all sorts of corruption in socio-economic and political sphere of Nagas. It is, of course, a matter of grave concern that our Naga society, in general, has become immune and indifferent to the harm caused by gangs of criminal and thugs who are depriving the citizen of this state an honest and progressive socio-economic and political system. However, the tide is turning now. ACAUT is a mass movement supported by a large chunk of Naga intelligentsia and informed citizen of Nagaland.
We belong to this same section of Naga society who are exasperated by the apathetic, law and order machinery in our state and as the last resort, decided to put our foot down and take our democratic fight against corruption at all levels.
Recently ACAUT exposed a multi crore petrol adulteration scam involving owners of many Petrol Pumps and there is a strong possibility that few government officials may have colluded with these people in robbing poor Nagas of subsidized Kerosene, not to speak of the immense damage they have done to motor vehicle owners of Nagaland who unsuspectingly, purchased adulterated petrol from the Petrol Pumps.
It baffles us beyond our imagination that well armed law enforcing agencies failed to protect the interest of the people of Nagaland and it is ACAUT which has regularly exposed so many scams in recent times.
Through the powerful medium of your esteemed newspaper, we would like to to appeal our government to build a strong case against all the culprits and set a deterrent against such incidence in future. We also believe that it is a good opportunity for the government to restore the confidence of the people who voted them to power. Lastly, we fully support ACAUT who are putting their lives at risk by exposing corruption that is often backed by powerful forces. We also appeal all the right thinking citizen to come out in support of the ACAUT for a better Nagaland.
Kudos to ACAUT.
