Dimapur, November 16: The new building to house the office of the District Agriculture Office of Peren district has been inaugurated on November 16 at the new district headquarters of Peren. The new building was inaugurated by Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture Dr. Benjongliba Aier.
Dr. Aier was the chief guest of the event.
Addressing the gathering during the formal event, the chief guest said that the occasion was a red letter day for the farmers of Peren district. He congratulated the departmental officers and their staff for ‘taking keen initiatives in constructing this new building for the welfare of the department as well as for the farmers of the district.’
The parliamentary secretary remarked that Peren district had the potential to becoming the ‘most beautiful district’ in the state due to its fertile soil and climatic conditions. He added that the district had the potential to be ‘one of the most economically viable districts’ in the state of Nagaland.
Secretary for Agriculture Chumremo A Odyuo also spoke during the function. The officer urged the officers and staffs of the department to be sincere and regular in their duties.
The subdivision officer (civil) of Peren, Robin, also addressed the gathering. He lauded the efforts of the department.
Short Speeches were also delivered by community leaders.
Earlier in the program, the chief guest unveiled a monolith to mark the occasion.

A cultural dance was performed by members of Kejanglwa village.
