Dimapur, April 8 (EMN): Chief Medical Office (CMO), Peren district under the chairmanship of Dr. M. Tiala Longkumer, deputy CMO, held district review meeting-cum-farewell on April 5 at CMO Medical office.
During the meeting, Dr. M. Tiala Longkumer highlighted the importance of reporting formats and also urged the staffs to work earnestly and be responsible. She also informed about the Mission Indradhanush which has started on March 7 and will be carried out the same on date 7 of every month till June.
Dr. Khrielasanuo, DPO, RCH /UIP explained about the medicine, Misoprostol that is to be use at the sub-centre. She highlighted that heavy bleeding after giving birth (postpartum haemorrhage, PPH) is one of the main causes of women’s death after giving birth and thus the government is taking the best effort to reduce maternal death. She also informed that it is recommended safe birth with Misoprostol.
She also mentioned about the Mission Indradhanush that the focus is to facilitate the dropouts and missed out children. Further, she explained about the complete immunization, as many health workers were still unaware.
After the review meeting, a short farewell program was held for the outgoing CMO Peren, Dr. Ngangshimeren.
In his farewell speech, Dr. Ngangshimeren expressed his sincere appreciation and extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the staff.

The The program was chaired by Dr. M. Tiala Longkumer while invocation prayer was pronounced by Amenla, BPM Athibung Block and vote of thanks was proposed by Elizabeth, DPM. Special number was presented by CMO staff.
The meeting was attended by District Program Officers, medical officers, ANMs, GNMs, pharmacist, vaccinators, CMOs establishment staff, District Program Management Unit and Block Program Management unit staffs.
