The felicitation programme was held on August 15 at DC Park, Peren town. The programme was attended by Chubawati Chang, additional deputy commissioner, Peren, who encouraged the young winners to take their winning strides on a positive aspect. He had cited examples of Mike Tyson and Maradonna, who in spite of the earlier prospect and popularity, had to ultimately bow down to their own human folly and weakness. The ADC encouraged the winners to keep up the momentum of a true sportsmanship saying, ‘one must live a discipline life and strife towards greater goals.’ Words of encouragement and appreciation were also delivered by Asembe Mbung, on behalf of Peren District Badminton Association; Alum Zeliang, president of Peren District Sports Association and Slut Kwetrie Teilia, team coach. DRDA project director, Peren, Keyirangding Hegui, felicitated the seven winners with a certificate and cash. The programme concluded with a prayer delivered by Haiku Nza, pastor of Peren Town Baptist Church.
