DIMAPUR — Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Peren, conducted the 11th episode of Krishi Choupal programme, titled ‘Environment-friendly natural farming – objectives and benefits for farmers,’ at the Women Welfare conference hall, Jalukie town, on November 8.
According to an update, the programme, held in the presence of 61 farmers and all four FPO staff of Peren district, was telecast the same day from 2 pm to 3 pm on DD Kisan.
Dr. Prashant Kalal, SMS-Fruit Science, KVK Peren, explained about natural farming, its components, and advantages for sustainable cultivation.
He urged farmers to switch to biofertilisers and biopesticides for chemical-free farming and shared methods to prepare beejamruta, jeevamrutha, panchagavya, neemastra, brahmastra, and more.
The farmers and officials later tuned into the Livestream Krishi Choupal programme on DD Kisan, and learned about natural farming and its benefits through the broadcast.
Iruga Zeliang, member of Jalukie Town Council and guest of honour, advised the farmers to adopt the natural farming components to produce quality organic produce. He also applauded the efforts of KVK Peren for the Krishi Choupal programme.
After the programme, farmers interacted with KVK experts, and vegetable seeds were distributed to them.
