Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): Peren district task force held a meeting on immunisation on October 16 in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Peren.
An update from the chief medical office (CMO), Peren, stated that the meeting was chaired by the deputy commissioner Sentiwapang Aier, which was attended by officials from the CMO, police, Assam Rifles, and DPRO.
In the meeting, Dr. M Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO, RCH/UIP, made a power point presentation on activities under UIP programme in the district from January till date. The activities carried under the programme included National Immunisation Day (IPPI), introduction of Rota Virus vaccine and Td vaccine, streamlining of cold chain system, undertaking of routine immunisation micro-planning, involvement in Poshan Abhiyan activities, preparation for IMI 2019-2020, findings during monitoring visits and the way forward towards achieving 90% full immunisation coverage in the district.
Highlighting that village leaders play an important role in disseminating awareness, she called upon the district administration and the other departments for the success of the programme. She further stated that more intensive awareness was need for few villages who are still resisting immunisation.
In his concluding remarks, the chairman asked the members to identify those resisting villages and to find a way to reach out to them by creating awareness to the village leaders as well as conducting awareness programme in the blocks.
