Peren District Football Association to host first-ever Women’s Cup football tournament in Jalukie

DIMAPUR — The Peren District Football Association (PDFA) will host the inaugural Women’s Cup (Football) from September 4 to 8 at the Turf Ground in Jalukie town on the theme “Her game, her glory”.

An update from the Association stated that the champions would walk home with a cash prize of INR 20,000, medals, certificates, and a trophy, while the runners-up would receive a cash prize of INR 10,000 with medals, certificates, and a trophy.

In the individual category, the golden ball winner would receive a cash prize of INR 2000, while other individual awards such as the golden boot, golden glove, best defender, and best midfielder would each receive cash prizes of INR 1,000 with trophies.

It mentioned that PDFA is embarking on a new and historic initiative by introducing the PDFA Women’s Cup 2025, the first-ever running trophy tournament exclusively for women in the district. It added that the landmark event is not just a competition but a movement to empower women in football, thereby creating equal opportunities for them to compete, excel, and inspire.

It stated that the chosen theme “Her game, her glory” reflects PDFA’s commitment to ensuring that women footballers receive the recognition, support, and platform they truly deserve.
