Peren district constitutes sports council

The decision to this effect was taken during the monthly meeting of DPDB held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Peren, at new district headquarters on October 10 under the chairmanship of the advisor of Water Resources and vice chairman DPDB, Namri Nchang. It was decided that two to three members would be nominated and approved in the next DPDB meeting, stated a DIPR report on Friday. The board also discussed on the upcoming Peren district legislator trophy. Addressing the members, Namri Nchang informed that unlike in the past years, the amount sanction for conducting the legislator trophy would be reduced to INR three lakh from INR six lakh. In addition to football, he has suggested focussing on other sports disciplines so as to provide platform to expose talents of the youth. The board has approved registration of Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) as requested by its president during the meeting. The board members also deliberated on restoration of water supply within DC office, New Peren; fixing of defunct mouth-piece in the DC’s conference hall; ban on hunting and fishing activities within Peren district and the 6th inter-departmental sports meet. During the meeting, representatives from Rural Development department, Peren, made a brief presentation. DC Peren and vice-chairman DPDB, Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, has urged the Horticulture department, Peren, to present activities report in the next DPDB meeting. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks said by Namri Nchang. He further appealed all the departmental HoDs to attend the next month DPDB meeting.
