Mokokchung, Sep. 16 (EMN): People’s College Alumni Association (PCAA) has organised its second edition of inter-school literary competitions on September 16 on the theme, “Tribal cosmopolitanism: Reclaiming modernity” at People‘s College auditorium, Mokokchung.
The competitions included debate on the topic “Naga society is westernised not modernised,” painting and duet, which was participated by schools in Mokokchung district.
The college principal, T Imlitoshi Walling, in his welcome address, lauded the college alumni association for conceptualising the idea for creating an avenue where students from various schools would be able to interact and share knowledge and build a strong bondage between them.
He also encouraged the participants from various schools to take this opportunity not only to showcase their talents and knowledge they learn but also to learn and gain more knowledge from their fellow competitors.
Opening ‘Soyala’ and ‘This is life’ were some of the special presentations made by the students of People’s College.
In the debate competition, Onenchila of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School was declared winner, while Nyemchang Phom of Senayangba Government Higher Secondary School and Yangtsapi of Canaan Christian Higher Secondary School were declared second and third winners respectively.
In the painting competition, Supongwati of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School was declared winner, while Limanaro Kichu of NI Jamir Government Higher Secondary School and Indro Rao of Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School were declared second and third winners respectively.
In duet competition, Temsumongla Jamir and SademlilanPonger of Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School were declared winners, while Leah and Nungshirenla of Town Higher Secondary School and Alemwapang and Lika of Canaan Christian Higher Secondary School were declared second and third winners respectively.
