I have been a Member of the ‘PeTA, India’, an Organization of People for Ethical Treatment of Animal, for how long I do not exactly remember now. They send me their Bi-Monthly Magazine about their activities for the prevention of cruelty in India and they also unfailing send a litany of requests for donations for the prevention of cruelty to Animals in the country. Sometimes they encourage Members to adopt Vegetarian food habit.
I once received a communication from them advising me of the goodness to become a Vegetarian. I sent them back an uncivilized reply that I am a strong omnivorous animal, eats anything that is not poisonous and share the PeTA interests but have no interest of changing my Food habits.
I have also not developed Nagaland’s modern elite habit of drinking plain water routinely served in every Funerals or Public Gathering as if every thirsty person about the Town is gathered there, nor am I a Yogist who takes Cow Urine to for good Health without a paid Doctor.
While appearing the UPSC in 1967, at about the end of the Interview, one Member of the Commission suddenly said:
“I am told you Nagas eat dogs without cleaning the entrails”!
I sensed he was trying to tease me, and so I replied:
“Sir, we eat any thing that is not poisonous”.
Immediately, there was an uproarious laughter filing the whole Room spontaneously and they offered me also the Tea brought for them. I accepted it with thanks.
And afterwards I found I was, perhaps mistakenly given, marks much too much more than I expected.
All these is because of the Angamis eating Dog Meat and many other Naga Tribes have now become the Angamis Disciples. Very pleasantly, even the Pension I get more than my basic requirements today, without doing any Work even though I retired voluntarily from a highest paid Post for the last 16 years, is I pressume, because of the Naga eating Dog Meat!
And if the UPSC Member teases me further, I would have said:
“Sir, Beef is also our favorite Foods”.
It is beyond comprehension that BJP’s Cow Vigilantes, wearing perhaps Animal Skin Shoes, even of Cow, would mindlessly and viciously beat up the Untouchable Castes in the society for moving dead Cows from the Property,
It is unimaginable how Leather Goods are so very highly valued in Shoes, Sofa Seat Covers, fantastically costly Seat Covers of posh German Cars but ferociously thrash poor hapless unresisting Schedule Castes for doing the unenviable job processing Cow Skins for Leather!
The whole hypocrisy in the Nation originates from the centre of Gravity of the Government and of the Society, which pay lip Service for the up-liftmen of the down trodden have-nots and shamelessly protect unconscionable violence of the Cow Vigilantes on the hapless downtrodden Schedule Caste in the Streets.
The Government behaves like the ISIS Caliphates for whom their Religious Laws of murder of other Sects is taken as Devine requirements. In the case of the BJP Vigilantes, the whole trouble originates from the gravitational Centre of the abominable Hindu Caste System.
The NBCC should have strongly Objected to Uncontrolled, –production, -Transport, -Sale and -Marketing of defined Alcoholic Drinks, but should have never resorted to Dharnas, Strikes, Bandhs or Hunger Strike to force a weak Government make Rules prohibiting a specific Food Habits of the People. It is uncharacteristic of the Gospel of Christ to resort to Strikes, Dharnas or Mass Hunger Strikes to caw down a weak Government on a mammon’s matter.
Food is a Fundamental Right to Man: The Government even physically force-feeds a person with life-sustaining food or Liquid if a Person resorts to Hunger Strike to Death. The Government should not make Law preventing a specific Food Habit of the People.
The UN would do well to declare FOOD, -any kind of Foods- a Fundamental Human Right like Religion and other Human Rights subjects.
