PenThrill Publication House releases Khrieletuonuo Yhome's debut poetry collection ‘Longings: Poetry Effused in the Midst of Love and Betrayal’ in Kohima.
DIMAPUR — PenThrill Publication House launched its 124th publication, titled "Longings: Poetry Effused in the Midst of Love and Betrayal", authored by Khrieletuonuo Yhome, at The Highland Institute in Kohima on September 12.
The book was formally released by Dr. Medongu-ü Khruomo, Vice Principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Chiechama, who described the release as a turning point and a new chapter in the author's life.
Commending Yhome on her debut collection, Dr. Khruomo noted that writing a book takes months and years of perseverance, describing a book of poetry as the journey of a soul. She urged the gathering to read the book, stating that literature truly comes alive only when read.
Author Khrieletuonuo reflected on her journey as a writer, recalling that during her college days she was deeply inspired by Vishü Rita Krocha's 2011 poetry book "A Bucket of Rain". Yhome stated that "Longings" represents a collection of emotions, memories, questions, hopes, and moments from various stages of life, serving as a medium to give voice to feelings that are often difficult to speak aloud.

She acknowledged Saktum Wonti for the cover art and Pekruvizo Dzüvichü for illustrating the book.
In the publisher's note, Krocha remarked that every publication marks a milestone, particularly when launching a new writer. Krocha observed that while publishing remains a relatively new industry in Nagaland involving significant risks with debut authors, PenThrill continues to publish works to preserve the rich stories of Nagaland and urged the gathering to continue to support Naga literature.
