Dimapur, July 7: To ensure that the much awaited summer break is a time to relax and rejuvenate, Peace Channel organized a two-day summer camp for the Peace Club members at Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) training center 4th Mile based on the theme “Empowering Youths for Social Change” in pursuit to ensure all round development and inculcate peace and harmonious living.
The camp saw an overwhelming participation by 42 students from various schools in Dimapur which was held on July 4 and 5.
Rev. Fr. Charles, the Director of DAN in his exhortation on the first day said, every coming together of peace clubs members brings changes and it’s not a waste of time. He said, peace is very essential in our society, and added that Nagas were a peace loving people in the past but as time passed by all the good virtues has been lost due to negative perspective.
Therefore he encouraged the students to develop the culture of peace in the societies. Later, the Peace Channel and its activities were highlighted to the students by the Peace channel staff. Input sessions on Child rights, HIV and its pandemics were also covered during the two days program for the students by various resource people.
The witnessed various individuals, groups and inter-schools competitions, such as quiz, songs, dance and fun filled learning activities.
