Dimapur, Feb. 20 (EMN): Peace Channel, Peren chapter conducted a leadership skill training programme on Feb.18 at All Saints School in Peren. The organiser updated about the event on Tuesday.
The Programme was attended by the church and community leaders from Peren town.
Resource person, principal of St. Xavier College Jalukie, Dr. Rev. Fr. Francis stressed on the concept of leadership and the skills needed for a good leader.
Rev. Francis shared about risk taking capabilities, good visionary, courageous, good communication skills, team work and competency among others.
In order to be an effective leader, one need to have a good influencing and convincing power, should have the potential and capability to demonstrate in performance and live an exemplary life by being a doer and not just merely a speaker, he said.
To be a good leader, the Rev. said one should have the skills to bring people together and unite them regardless of all differences.
Comparing the quality of past and present leaders of the Naga society, he said cultured, truthfulness, patience, unity, love, belongingness merely exist in the society at present. Referring to this he said ‘we have become the victims of our own deeds.’
To make a difference in life, the Rev. said ‘we just have to keep pause for a while from our day to day lives, reflect, think, analyze and make a wise decision for a better and brighter future.
Project coordinator of Peace Channel, Vikhuli enlightened the participants on peace and peace building. She encouraged the participants to join hands together and be a peace builder in the society.
