Dimapur, April 26 (EMN): Peace Channel organized a one day training programme for teachers about “Education for transformative life” at Peace Channel conference hall in Dimapur on April 21.
A press release on Thursday informed that the objective of the programme was to bring changes in the educational system of the state. The training also aimed to capacitate the teachers to enhance education for transformative life, to train them to equip with leadership skill, and to have peaceful classroom environment in the institution level.
The press note mentioned that the director of Peace Channel, Dr. C P Anto, and the Public Relations Officer, Kishor Dass, were the resource persons during the training programme. Teacher coordinators who had been assisting the peace club in different institutions attended the programme.
The updates informed that the main topic that was being stressed upon was on education for transformative life, leadership skills, and how to have a peaceful classroom environment.
According to the press note, Anto in his address stressed on how peace education can incorporate into the education system and how a teacher can creatively deal with the students rather than executing punishment in the schools.
The updates further mentioned that, while speaking during the programme, Kishor Dass, spoke about measures to be taken in order to have a quality education and transform the life of individuals. He said that teachers can be a role model for students through their deeds and actions.
