Dimapur, September 26 : The Citizens’ Welfare Society, Kiphire has alleged ‘bulgy discrepancies’ with regard to the issue of APL, BPL, AAY, kerosene, wheat, atta and sugar under Public Distribution System for the year 2015 -2016 in Kiphire town. The society, in a release issued by its media cell, today stated that there was huge difference in terms of the quantity of these items received by the beneficiaries and the utilisation certificate submitted to the Directorate of Directorate of Food & Civil Supplies by the office of Assistant Director F&CS Kiphire.
The release said the society detected the discrepancies in the utilisation information given to it by the Directorate of Food & Civil Supplies on September 13 in response to its RTI application filed on August 22, 2016. In the RTI application, the society sought information pertaining to the issue of these items in Kiphire town.
The society, basing on the actual information received, has now questioned as to how and why this huge quantity of these items meant for general public of Kiphire town is missing, the release said. It warned that it will not remain a silent spectator on the issue.
The society furnished the following table on the basis of the written information from the town ward authorities and the Directorate of Food and Civil Supplies that shows the huge difference of the quantity received by the beneficiaries and the utilisation certificate submitted to the Directorate of F&CS by the office of Assistant Director F&CS Kiphire.
