Dimapur, July 25 (EMN): Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) conducted workshop for Dobashis (DBs) and Gaon Buras (GBs) at ADC conference hall, Pfutsero on July 25.
Delivering short speech and launching of PDLSA newsletter, ADC Pfutsero, Zeneikhonuo Viemero, said that it is a rare opportunity for the village authority and judiciary to share platform for such programmes. She lauded that village authorities are functioning well.
The ADC further encouraged the DBs and GBs to learn from the training in order to perform better in village administration and in dispensing justice.
Keynote address was delivered by N. Longshithung Ezung, District and Session Judge Phek and Chairman PDLSA.
Master Trainer NSLSA, Tongpang Jamir, spoke on role of DBs and GBs, village council act 1978, role of administration of justice and police in Nagaland 1937, while Advocate Retainer Lawyer PDLSA, Mamang Singson, spoke on legal practices and procedures.
Around 100 GBs, DBs and VCs and other village authorities from different villages under Pfutsero sub-division attended the training programmme.
The ADC, SDO and EAC Sakraba were also present during the training programme.
Meanwhile, on the same day PDLSA also organised an essay competition at Pfutsero Government College, wherein 19 students participated. Names of winners will be announced on July 28 during the school’s sports week prize distribution day.
