Dimapur, Oct. 21 (EMN): Puiteing FC reclaimed the top spot in the Peren District Footbal League (PDFL) organised by Peren District Football Association (PDFA) after stunning Nsong Area Sports Association (NASA) 7-1 at Jalukie ‘B’ village ground on Friday.
Puiteing FC opened their account in the 21st minute through the boots of Kawijibo, who also scored the third goal in the 43rd minute. Puiteingthen added another goal in the 23rd minute through Jangminlen.
After the breather, Wibonjibou of Puiteing FC struck again in the 51st minute while his teammate Kawililakbou added another goal in the 59th minute.
A struggling NASA found the back of the net through the boots of Ningteu in the 70th minute, the lone goal for the team. In the 90th minute, a NASA player committed a fatal suicide goal.
The seventh goal for Puiteing was scored by Lamraiin in added time.
In the first match, Barak FA defeated Benreu FC 3-1. The first half was a highly contested game where both the teams looked for opportunities to open their accounts.
Just before the final whistle of the first half, Namdonbo of Barak FA drew first blood in the 44th minute.
Fighting back, Benreu FC found the equaliser through the boots of Rangrangbe in the 54th minute. Later in the 81st and 84th minutes, Suraibo and Namdonbo of Barak FA scored the third and fourth goals respectively, sealing the fate of Benreu FC.
In the second match, LekieMtei FC downed Northern Zeme Sports Association (NZSA) 2-1.
In the fourth match, Native Feathers and Prime FC played out a goalless draw. Native Feathers are now on the third spot of the table while Prime FC are placed fifth.
