DIMAPUR — The People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) remains intact and the BJP is confident of winning the 28-Koridang by-election, Minister Temjen Imna Along said on Monday, amid questions over the absence of some senior Naga People’s Front (NPF) leaders from the campaign.
Speaking to media persons at Dimapur Airport during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s brief stopover, Along explained that the chief minister’s absence from campaigning was due to official engagements and did not indicate any strain within the alliance.
He said that leaders including CL John, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton were actively campaigning, and expressed confidence that BJP candidate Daochier I Imchen would secure a “thumping majority”.
