Dimapur, Oct. 26 (EMN): Perseverance Club Kohima (PCK), in partnership with Kohima College Students’ Council and District Tobacco Control Cell Kohima, has organised an acoustic musical concert on the theme “Awareness on tobacco consumption through music and act” on October 25 at APO Hall.
The event marked by the mesmerising voices of young enthusiastic artists. The special appearances of beat-boxing and the Dreamz Unlimited took the stage to a higher standard through their evergreen act on the theme.
Apart from the artists, Dr. Aringla Walling, District Nodal Officer (Medical), presented a power-point presentation on the ill effect of consuming tobacco/intoxicants and the loss it causes to socio-economic life of an individual and the society.
The event was graced by Katho P Awomi, Programme Coordinator of All Nagaland College Students’ Union. The special guest, while highlighting the losses caused by intoxicants and the amount of hazardous substances tobacco carries, challenged and encouraged the gathering to start a beginning of tobacco free life. He was accompanied by his colleagues and general secretaries from various colleges under Kohima and Dimapur districts.
The event was beautified with interesting raffle draw of an acoustic guitar worth Rs 10,000. The organisers through the event conveyed a loud and clear message to the citizens to “Choose life, Not tobacco.”
