Press Council of India (PCI) has conferred certificate to Kekhriezhanuo Solo, a BA student of Journalism and Mass Communication at St. Joseph University, Chümoukedima, on completion of the winter internship 2023.
The certificate was given away by Justice Ranjana Praksh Desai, chairperson of PCI, in the presence of Nungsanglemba Ao, secretary of PCI, and Jaishankar Gupta, senior journalist of PCI.
An update from PCI informed that Kekhriezhanuo Solo is the first journalism student from Nagaland to be selected for an internship at the prestigious Press Council of India.
It informed that PCI selects a handful of journalism students from all over the country for two batches of internships – one during summer and the other during winter every year.
It further mentioned that PCI is a statutory, adjudicating organisation in India formed in 1966 by its parliament. It is the self-regulatory watchdog of the press, for the press and by the press that operates under the Press Council Act of 1978. (Dimapur, EMN)
