PCC declares results of photography contest

Dimapur, Aug. 19 (EMN): Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) has declared results of the national level photography competition organised by the Multimedia and Mass Communication department on the occasion of ‘World Photography Day’ on August 19.

An update from the college stated that Thokchom Kripananda’s photo which metaphorically touched upon the concept of life’s struggle with caption ‘Wherever life plants you, bloom with grace’ was selected for the first prize, while the second prize was awarded to Tongmak Dada for his photo on the theme ‘Hope for humanity’.

It was a tie between Lochamo L Ezung and Ghukato Chishi for the third spot. Ezung’s theme ‘Save earth’ had captioned his photo as ‘I can be part of the solution,’ Chishi captioned his photo as ‘Mother Nature shedding its tears on the flowers, often disguised as 'dew drops'. ‘

Dr. Dakter Esse, HOD, said that the theme was kept open for this year’s competition adding that mobile photography was also encouraged for wider participation.

The event coordinator, Rojenn Wahengbam, informed that there were more than 60 photo entries. It was overwhelming to see people from all walks of life participate in the competition, he added.

Report further stated that winners would receive cash prizes and certificates. It added that all the participants would receive participation certificates.
