Dimapur, Aug. 19 (EMN): With rampant collections of multiple taxes by national workers in the form of syndicates and lease systems along with taxes by different agencies and unions which has been adversely affecting the citizen, the group called Public Action Committee (PAC) under the aegis of Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) decided to meet the district administration and concerned groups to eliminate such syndicate and lease system and multiple taxations in the state.
The decision was taken during the meeting held under the aegis of Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) comprising 19 tribal hohos under Dimapur, NWHD, DUCCF, GB Union Dimapur, DCCI, and NCD held a meeting on Aug. 18 at Tourist Lodge in Dimapur.
The meeting was conducted in pursuance to the resolution adopted in the previous meeting held on July 26 with tribe / organisation on multiple taxation, syndicate and lease system.
A press release issued by the committee convenor, Vekhosayi Nyekha and co-convenor, K Ghokheto Chophy, informed that during the meeting, reports of tribes / organizations were tabled in the house for deliberation. First-hand information on various collections in the form of taxes, fees and others were also tabled by the ‘fact finding committee.’
Further, all the tribal hohos/ organisations expressed their solidarity for "One Government, One Tax" and the desire for an early settlement of the Naga political struggle.
The members present at the meeting endorsed its fullest support and cooperation to the PAC team working under the banner of the NCD.
