PB Acharya congratulates Nagaland

Dimapur, Jan. 25 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya on Friday congratulated the department of Social Welfare and the people of Nagaland on being awarded for excellent performance in Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) during the National Girl Child Day celebration in New Delhi on Jan. 24. Describing it as a proud moment for Nagaland and its citizens, Acharya said in a statement girls are excelling in almost every field today and beating the records. He stressed on the “need to change the mindset of the people so that girls could get proper respect and honour.” The Governor appealed to the civil societies, individuals and community leaders to come forward and strengthen the scheme even further by sponsoring education of a girl child for her education. The statement also said that Raj Bhavan has been sponsoring 390 girls with the help of various organisations and individuals over the last three years and that a bank account has been opened for the cause.
