Dimapur, July 19 : The staff of Raj Bhavan, Kohima organised a program to honour Governor, PB Acharya on his completion of two years in office as the Governor of Nagaland today at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan.
A staff of Raj Bhavan, Banuo Koza who chaired the program said that Acharya was sworn-in as the Governor of Nagaland on 19th July, 2014 and since then he came to be known as the People’s Governor. She mentioned that during his two years in office, the Governor initiated Fellowship Exchange Programme under which free medical camps were conducted and also Teachers’ Exchange Programme.
She said, the Governor was keen to ensure that various welfare schemes of the government of India and the State government reach the grass-roots level. He has been a strong advocate of the National Schemes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna, Swacch Bharat etc.
During the program, a video was shown highlighting the arrival of the Governor with his family members to Nagaland, swearing-in ceremony and his welcoming function. Staff of Raj Bhavan along with their family members attended the celebration. Additional Secretary, Motuo M. Sote invoked the God’s blessing.
