Dimapur, Jan. 20 (EMN): The deputy chief minister of Nagaland, Y Patton believes that Christians should lead virtuously in every aspect of life, for ‘an honest life transforms the society.’ The minister’s establishment issued a press release on Sunday informing about an event during which Patton was stated to have made the statement.
“The deputy chief minister of Nagaland, Y Patton said Christians should lead an honest and truthful lives in every realms and aspects be it social, political or religion. He said that an honest life transforms the society,” the press release read. He was exhorting people at Koio Baptist Church, during a platinum jubilee programme, in Wokha district, on January 20.
‘Jubilee is a time to retrospect and introspect God’s blessings in the past. Every jubilee is a milestone achievement, he said and further stressed that jubilee is a time to forgive and forget and to revive a new beginning with a new hope,’ the press release stated in quoting the minister’s speech.
Patton was also stated to have said that the “misuse of modern gadgets, particularly mobile phones” is “rapidly diminishing the work culture in the Naga society and most vulnerable sections are to the student community at large.”
Further, the minister expressed hope that the platinum jubilee celebrations would bring ‘many bountiful blessings’ to Koio Baptist Church, the updates stated.
The two-day celebrations was held with the theme “The truth has set you free” (John 8:32), the updates added.
