Dimapur, Aug. 6 (EMN): Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Legislature Party Leader, Y Patton, has mourned the demise of Rev. Moa Longchari, brother-in-law of the State Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, and pastor of Baptist Mission Church (BMC), Kohima, who passed away on August 5 at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai.
In a condolence message, Patton stated that his sudden demise was not only a loss to the family but the churches and people of Nagaland. He lamented that Nagas have lost a faithful, humble and fearful servant of God.
Patton, on behalf of all the BJP legislators, conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
In a separate statement, Oriental Theological Seminary (OTS), while mourning the demise of Rev. Moa Longchari, stated that he was the living legacy of his grandfather Rev. LongriAo, a formidable pillar of the Naga church.
OTS principal, Dr. Joshua Lorin stated that Rev. Moa was endowed with enormous potential and dynamic leadership qualities. Though his service to the church was cut short, OTS stated that, God in his wisdom, would multiply the seed that has fallen to hundred folds to impact generations for eternity.
It prayed that his wife, children, and family would find comfort in the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.
