Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton inspected on Saturday the proposed ‘improvement of Dimapur city roads’ project to be undertaken from the PWD office in Dimapur via Unity College to Lotha colony.
Patton was accompanied by Dimapur police officials and departmental officers, and chairmen and Gaon Bura of various colonies during the inspection. The minister urged the colony councils to be vigilant of new residents in their respective area and to identify them to prevent illegal immigrants from settling and to maintain law and order in future.
Also, he urged contractors not to compromise with workmanship, and declared that in accordance with the state Cabinet’s decision the builders should maintain the roads for a period of three years. During the interaction with the visiting officials, the chairman of Lotha Colony Council, Renathung Ezung, said that the colony’s road had been neglected for more than 25 years and whatever road maintenance that could be undertaken was done was through residents’ contribution.
