DIMAPUR — Deputy
Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton, inaugurated the community hall of Dimapur
Riphyim Ekhung at Eralibill, Dimapur, on Saturday, attending the event as the
special guest.
According to a DIPR report, speaking on the occasion, Patton
encouraged the gathering to be ambassadors of peace and love in their
neighbourhood and society at large while they are alive, reminding them that
life is short.
He underscored the importance of time management and
integrity and also urged the gathering to move forward with unity.
Patton also
reminded the gathering to preserve and value their traditional attire, stating
that it portrays one's identity.
Further, Patton announced that he would host the Lotha Tokhu
Emong 2025 for the Lothas residing in Dimapur and Chümoukedima districts, where
a joint celebration would be organised.
The deputy chief minister lauded Thungbemo Patton, project
director of DRDA Wokha, who is also the chairman of Dimapur Riphyim Ekhung, for
his initiative and unflinching support towards the construction of the Dimapur
Riphyim community hall.
Special invitee, Dimapur Lotha Hoho chairman Thungchanthung
Murry, in his brief address, lauded the positive contribution of Dimapur
Riphyim Ekhung towards the Lotha community. He also underscored the importance
of preserving one's culture and traditions.
The chairman of Eralibill village thanked Patton for taking
the initiative in various development works, including the 1 km stretch of road
leading to Eralibill village. On behalf of the Eralibill council, the chairman
also thanked the Lotha community residents of Eralibill for always being
supportive and united towards the council.
Chairmen of Pongtong, Serika, Thilong, Old Riphyim, and New
Riphyim village councils also delivered short speeches.
