Kohima, April 10 (EMN): State Home Minister, Y Patton has congratulated SDPO, Atu Zumvü NPS and Captain Elisen Y Jami, recipients of the most prestigious awards National Gallantry ‘Shaurya Chakra’ Award bringing pride and laurels to the people of the state, the government and the country.
In a congratulatory note, Patton said the award to the two officers has shown the zeal, courage, determination, commitment and sacrifice towards their state and the nation at large. He also said that the two officers have set an exemplary step and an encouragement for the security forces to emulate.In a separate press release, the Sr. Superintendent of Police and all ranks of DEF Kohima congratulated Atu Zumvü, NPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of the unit on being conferred with National Gallantry Award “Shaurya Chakra” by the President of India from Rastrapati Bhavan, New Delhi on April 6.
Sr. Superintendent said this type of award is common in Army and Central Para-Military agencies but it is one of the rarest of the rarest in State police service.
“There have been instances where many Naga officers serving in Army and CPMF who were conferred with such award but we are happy to inform that, Atu Zumvü is one of the first recipients of “Shaurya Chakra” among the Nagaland Police since Statehood,” he stated.
DEF Kohima wished him best of luck in his future endeavour.
