DIMAPUR — The Pathso Public Organisation (PPO) has expressed disappointment and condemnation over a statement made by MLA of 57 Thonoknyu Assembly Constituency, Thonoknyu, during his public address on January 3 at Pathso Nokeng at the 30th Pathso Nokeng Public Organisation’s general session.
In a statement, the PPO stated that the MLA had alleged that an amount of INR 40 crore allocated for the construction of Noklak-Panso road had been misappropriated without any actual visible work.
“The PPO being a public organisation and the watchdog of its people, took cognisance of the grave allegation made by the MLA and verified his statement from the concerned department.

“However, upon verification, the concerned department has informed that it has no knowledge of any such fund being sanctioned for the development of Noklak-Panso road,” the organisation maintained.
In light of the clarification, the PPO stated that it found the conduct highly reprehensible and contemptuous of public office.
It stated that it was unbecoming and disgraceful for an elected representative to peddle such wild allegations on a public platform.
The PPO demanded that the MLA substantiate his claim with documentary evidence by March 31, failing which the PPO would be compelled to initiate legal proceedings against him as per the provision of law.
